Crochet Class: How to Crochet Mosaic Crochet Granny Square
$20.00
Description
Inset mosaic crochet is such a fun technique! In this class, you’ll learn how to crochet a center out blanket square using the inset mosaic crochet technique to create a fun, window or block pattern. As we explore the basics of this crochet stitch pattern and technique, in the end, you’ll be able to turn your finished square into a variety of projects such as a coaster, washcloth or blanket made of one continuous square, or multiple squares sewn together to create other crochet projects, like a tote bag or table runner. The possibilities are endless!
Cost: $20 — Yarn Included, Bring Your Own Crochet Hook
Level: Easy, but not beginner friendly. Must be comfortable working a chain and single crochet stitches. Experience working in the round is a plus, but not necessary.
Supplies that are included: A written crochet pattern & 2 balls of Lion Brand Local Grown Cotton, a worsted weight #4 cotton yarn.
Supplies you will need to bring (or purchase in the shop): A H8/5mm crochet hook. If you plan to add a finished border to your square, bring a G6/4.25mm or 7/4.5mm crochet hook.
Note: If you prefer working with a different sized crochet hook when crocheting with worsted weight cotton yarn, such as a I9/5.5mm, feel free to bring that instead and then hook that is one size smaller for the border.
Want to make a specific kind of project? You will learn how to start a mosaic crochet square from the center out and how to build the increases, which will allow you to create squares to your desired size for your desired project. I will provide some project examples and crochet patterns available, but I am happy to explore other project ideas with you during the class, or feel free to come to our Stitch Meet Up Event on the 3rd Sunday of the month to continue working together.
