What is a pre-order?

As I build up my yarn shop, I am going to be taking pre-orders in which you can purchase the yarn ahead of time up to a certain window of time set forth in the listing description, then I will no longer take pre-orders on the yarn and put in a big order for all yarns included in the pre-order plus extras for stock. Turnaround time is about 1 – 2 weeks from the day the window is closed to shipping out to you.

Why should you pre-order yarn?

1. I am going to be offering a discount on all pre-ordered yarn!

2. There are so many fantastic yarns, and it’s tough for me to order them all at once! I want to make sure I have in stock what you are most interested in so by pre-ordering, you’re guaranteeing you will get the yarn, and it will be carried in the shop.

Will I be able to order the same yarns after the pre-order?

Yes! The pre-orders will help me ensure I have the yarn you really want, and I will continue to stock it as long as I can. Sadly, some yarns or colorways do get discontinued. I also want to make sure I have really great quality yarns so if I notice a yarn isn’t up to par, I may discontinue carrying it. Sometimes, I may need to discontinue carrying a yarn due to space limitations. If you really like a particular yarn, please reach out to me, and I will make sure to have it on hand as least for online orders.

Are you looking for a specific yarn, color or brand that you don’t see in the shop? Please reach out – I may be able to get it!

What brands of yarn and supplies do you stock?

Currently, I am working with Lion Brand Yarn, Berroco Yarn and Knitting Fever for yarn.

I do have plans to carry others including hand dyed yarn by local designers, and have been in contact with a few!

I am working with small shops on Etsy to stock supplies, like the adorable Flamingo Clay Crochet Hooks from DesertBronzeStudio!

Will my yarn and supplies look exactly like the photos?

Yarns are dyed in batches, and that is why many times on labels you will see a lot number. While the colorways all generally look the same as the same formulas are used, you may notice slight variations from one lot and another. Try to order as many balls of yarn that you think you will need for your project, and if I have all of the same lot number, I will pair it together.

Screens can also make the photo appear slightly different than the finished product will be.

Clay hooks, needle minders and stitch markers are all handmade, and since some of the clay colors are mixed together to get different shades, you may receive a product in which the colors looks a little bit different. If you are interested in a set, whether that be multiple crochet hooks or a crochet hook, needle minder and a couple stitch markers, it’s best to order it together so it can be matched similarly to the lot number of yarns. Custom orders can also be done to ensure the same clay mixture is used – feel free to reach out!

Does the yarn come from a cat friendly or dog friendly shop?

Yes! My studio where online stock is kept and yarn shop stock is processed is cat friendly. The Yarn Crafts & Coffee Yarn Shop and America’s Antique Mall are dog friendly. This does not mean that cats and dogs are rolling around the yarn and supplies, but it does mean that cat and dog hair are in the air, and may find their way onto the yarn and supplies. If you have a severe allergy, please reach out to me. The yarn arrives in sealed plastic bags (sometimes they are opened during the packing process before I even get them so not always completely sealed) so I can custom order yarn specifically for you, leave it in the sealed bags and ship it to you in them. Shipping times will vary, and there are yarn ball minimums that vary (depending on the yarn can be 3, 5 or 10 balls per color).

How much is shipping? Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free shipping in the US on orders of $75, otherwise it is a $10 flat fee.

I ordered yarn and/or supplies, how long before it ships?

Yarn:

For pre-orders, turnaround time is about 1 – 2 weeks from the day the window is closed to shipping out to you.

For in stock items, turnaround time is 3 – 5 business days.

Shipping from my studio in Central Florida.

Polymer Clay Hooks, Needle Minders & Stitch Markers:

Online orders are made to order (you can find all of these available in the Yarn Crafts & Coffee Yarn Shop inside America’s Antique Mall in Melbourne, Florida) by Laura of BronzeShepherdStudio. Turnaround time is 1 – 2 weeks, depending on the number of items.

Shipping from Michigan.

Carrier:

Shipping carrier will vary depending on the weight and size of the package, but either USPS or UPS, and should take 3 – 6 days once package is shipped.

Boutique Items:

Online orders are made to order (you can find many of these available in the Yarn Crafts & Coffee Yarn Shop inside America’s Antique Mall in Melbourne, Florida). Turnaround time is 5 – 7 business days.

I design the graphics. While I do some sublimation products in my studio, I do not have all of the equipment for every item, and do work with US printing shops to bring my designs to an actual product. I’ve enjoyed working with these shops with several products over the years, and am thrilled to bring these fun products to you!

Check the Materials section of the product listing to see whether I make the item or use production assistance, and if so, who. For items I make myself, they come out of my cat friendly studio and ship from Central Florida, and for all others, I use the following shops that ship from:

  • Spoke Custom out of Norcoss, Georgia.
  • District Photo out of Beltsville, Maryland.

Carrier for Boutique Items:

Shipping carrier will vary depending on the weight and size of the package, but either USPS, DHL or UPS, and should take 3 – 6 days once package is shipped.

Does my order include tracking?

All packages will come with tracking. Please ensure you have entered the correct shipping address BEFORE checking out so that I send the package to the correct place. If you see your package has been delivered, but you do not see it, please check in your mailbox, and with adjacent neighbors as sometimes carriers make delivery mistakes. If you still do not see your package, we can go through the steps to contact the carrier.

Do I need a yarn winder to use my yarn?

Some yarns are in ready to use balls, and can either be pulled from the center or the outside.

Some yarns are in hanks, and will require winding, which you can either do by hand or with a yarn winder. Before I bought my swift, I would take an accordion wall rack, tack it onto a cork board, undo the hank, place it around the accordion rack, and then either work directly from it, or use my yarn winder to wind it into a cake.

For a fee, I am happy to wind hanks into center pull cakes for you for online orders. Currently, no winding services for in store purchases.

I don’t live in the US, can I still order yarn and supplies?

If you do not live in the US, I am still happy to ship yarn and supplies to you! With VAT fees, I will set up a custom listing in my Etsy shop, and send you the link for purchase so please send me an email if interested. Keep in mind, you will be responsible for paying any related duties that will be collected from you by the carrier upon delivery. Deliveries that are returned for refusal to pay duties are not eligible for a refund.

Do you offer returns and/or exchanges?

I do allow returns / exchanges because I want to make sure you love what you purchase, but please remember you are shopping a small business.

You have 14 days to return in it’s unused state. You must contact me first, and pay the return shipping. I will check the item, and then issue refund. I cannot accept returns of yarns that have been wound into cakes (including by me before purchase) and I cannot accept returns of yarns from smoke friendly homes due to the cigarette toxins that can embed themselves in the fibers just from being around the smoke.

Yarns purchased in the Yarn Crafts & Coffee Yarn Shop inside America’s Antique Mall must be returned online, or to me in an in person event – the associates at the mall cannot process returns or exchanges.
