For the next 7 days, I am thrilled to be sharing with you projects made with a special little motif that captured my heart many years ago. It all started with the Sunflower Shawl in 2018, and I haven’t been able to stop making things with.
Because you can easily change up the colors to get a Sunflower, a Daisy and flowers made in all the other colors of the rainbow, I struggled with the name. It was “easy floral”, then “Lily” and finally two years ago found it’s new place as Delilah.
I thought I’d try something new with this Spring Fling Crochet Event. It kicks off on April 16th and will run through April 22nd – 7 days in total.
Each day, there will be a different featured crochet pattern. You will find the written pattern available on either my EyeLoveKnots blog or right here on the Yarn Crafts & Coffee blog along with a video tutorial — both forever free to view, not just during the event — plus on it’s special day, you will get a coupon to add the pattern to your Ravelry library for free. This coupon will be found in the “PDF” section of the blog post found about halfway down, before the Materials section – look for the graphics.
Did you know that blog subscribers can download PDFs right from our Free File Library? Join my newsletter list, check your email for a confirmation then you’ll receive a welcome newsletter with the password to the Free File Library, a tab at the top of on my EyeLoveKnots and Cre8tion Crochet blogs (same for both). Each month, I change the password so you’ll just want to reference your newest newsletter for it.
Below you’ll find the schedule. Some of these patterns have been previously posted, but I have been working on updating some of them, and of course, some new projects as well. This post and the Ravelry coupons will go live by 9am EST on it’s day, and I will send a newsletter out at that time to let you know. The Ravelry coupon will remain live until 9am EST on the following day.
I wanted to make sure you had time to gather up your supplies so you’ll find the details for each one right underneath it’s photo. Tell me, do you like knowing the projects ahead of time, or as a surprise each day?
What you’ll love about these crochet flower projects:
- Gauge is not essential for any of these projects so you don’t have to worry about measuring unless the finished size is essential to you. This also means you can easily switch to a bigger or smaller hook to match your preference and what you have on hand (like I love to use an H8/5mm for worsted weight yarn, but if you prefer a I9/5.5mm or a 4.5mm, not a problem).
- 3 Rounds for each flower means they’ll work up quickly
- 12 Yards for each flower means they’re perfect for stashbusting
I had so much fun revisiting this sweet little crochet motif, and remixing it to create and recreate these fun projects. Happy crocheting 🙂

April 16 -Day 1 – Delilah Coasters
To make the Delilah Coasters, you’ll need 12 yards of worsted weight yarn. I used Lily Sugar n Cream; 6 Yards of Yellow for the center of my flowers, and 6 Yards of my main color in Rose Pink, Blueberry, White & Red
WeCrochet Dishie and Queensland Coastal Cotton are great alternatives. I like to use cotton for coasters because it is more durable and absorbent, but you can easily use any yarn out of your stash – a hot cup of coffee is not hot enough to melt synthetic fibers, and while it doesn’t quite absorb the same way with cold beverages, it still holds the water and does not seep through to the surface.
You’ll also want to have an H8/5mm crochet hook.

17th – Day 2 – Delilah Mug Rug
To make the Delilah Mug Rug, you’ll need 31 (1 Round of Border) – 35 (2 Rounds of Border) Yards of Worsted Weight Yarn Total. I used WeCrochet Dishie in Bumblebee for the flower centers, in White, Azure and Mulberry for the petals, and in Honeydew for the Leaves
Lily Sugar n Cream and Queensland Coastal Cotton are great alternatives. I like to use cotton for mug rugs because it is more durable and absorbent, but you can easily use any yarn out of your stash – something like a hot cup of coffee is not hot enough to melt synthetic fibers, and while it doesn’t quite absorb the same way with cold beverages, it still holds the water and does not seep through to the surface.

18th – Day 3 – Delilah Gift Card Holder
To make the Delilah Gift Card Holder, you’ll need 30 Yards of Worsted Weight Yarn Total – I used WeCrochet Dishie in Bumblebee for the flower center, and in Begonia for the petals.
If I’m not using Dishie, I also like to use Queensland Coastal Cotton as both of these are colorfast, but feel free to use any yarn out of your stash.
You’ll also want to have an H8/5mm crochet hook.

19th – Day 4 – Delilah Afghan Square
To make the Delilah Afghan Square, you’ll need 51 Yards Total of Worsted Weight #4 Yarn – I used Lion Brand Pound of Love in Honey Bee (Flower Center, 6 yards), White (Petals, 6 yards), Olive (Leaves, 4 yards) and Denim (35 yards)
Depending on the project you’ll be working with this square, the yarn options can vary, but they’re practically endless. Feel to use your favorite worsted weight yarn, but I’ll provide some ideas for a couple projects:
For things like an afghan, scarf and shawl, acrylic yarn, like the Pound of Love I used, is a good choice. For a cozier option, go with a wool blend, like Lion Brand Wool Ease or Cascade Pacific. For a warm weather option, a cotton blend, like Berroco Modern Cotton or Lion Brand Made with Love are great choices.
For things like a tote bag, washcloth or table runner, a 100% cotton yarn, like Circulo Natural Cotton Maxcolor 4/6, WeCrochet Dishie or Queensland Coastal Cotton is what I would recommend. These are nice, durable options that wear and machine wash well and are also colorfast (not all cotton yarns are).
You’ll also want to have an H8/5mm crochet hook.

20th – Day 5 – Delilah Rectangle Doily
To make the Delilah Rectangle Doily, you’ll need 35 Yards Total of Worsted Weight Yarn – I used WeCrochet Dishie in Bumblebee for the Flower Center, Begonia for the Petals, Honeydew for the Leaves and White for the rest.
Lily Sugar n Cream and Queensland Coastal Cotton are great alternatives. I like to use cotton for doilies because it is more durable and absorbent, but you can easily use any yarn out of your stash – something like a hot cup of coffee or a candle in it’s container is not hot enough to melt synthetic fibers.
Alternatively, you can make a bunch of these in your preferred yarn and crochet them together, similar to how you would with an afghan square. For things like an afghan, scarf and shawl, I might choose an acrylic yarn, like Lion Brand Pound of Love. For a cozier option, go with a wool blend, like Lion Brand Wool Ease or Cascade Pacific. For a warm weather option, a cotton blend, like Berroco Modern Cotton or Lion Brand Made with Love are great choices.
You’ll also want to have an H8/5mm crochet hook.

21st – Day 6 – Delilah Applique from sewing Thread – Super Bulky
To make the Delilah Applique, you’ll need about 12 yards of yarn. The awesome thing about appliques is that you have so much flexibility with the sizing depending on what you’ll use them for. Choose any weight yarn out of your stash and use the respective size crochet hook.

22nd – Day 7 – Delilah Scrubbie
To make the Delilah Scrubbie, you’ll need about 12 yards of worsted weight yarn. I’ve experimented with different ways of using the Stitch Soak Scrub yarn, alone, partially and combined with cotton yarn so yardages can vary.
For a worsted weight cotton, I really like to use WeCrochet Dishie and Queensland Coastal Cotton as they are durable, absorbent and colorfast (not all cotton yarns are).
You’ll also want to have an H8/5mm crochet hook.
