Lion Brand DIY Glow Chenille Yarn is a fun, chunky chenille yarn that glows yellow in the dark. It’s comprised of 100% polyester, and is perfect for wearable accessories that you might want to take on your ghostly night adventures or dog walks after dark, or to embellish outfits and costumes. Also great for home projects like baskets, and amigurumi. You’ll love that your project will be easy to care for being machine washable and dryable!

Note: In light, the yarn shows the colorways seen in the photos. In the dark, they all glow green, though some of them are brighter than others – the darker colorways have a darker glow to them.

Note: The yarn has a rougher feel to it than I expected compared to other chenille style yarns as well as more flat, like a tape yarn, as opposed to round, and while listed as a Super Bulky Yarn, I’m going to say it works up more like a heavier Worsted Weight Yarn or lighter Chunky Weight Yarn so I’m changing the category in which it appears on the website.

Note: Each skein is small – only 32 yards each. Keep this in mind if you are planning on working up a particular project. Even for an adult size beanie, which I’d consider a small project, I’d expect it to take approximately 3 skeins.

Set Up: Center pull skein that is ready to use!

Fiber Content: 100% Polyester

Yardage: 32 yards / 29 meters

Care Instructions: Machine washable in cold water on the gentle cycle, and dryable on low heat. I do recommend rolling in a towel first to press the water out, and then machine drying. Depending on the project, you may need to run it through twice and/or lay flat to dry remainder.

Knitting Gauge: 8 stitches x 10 rows = 4″

Recommended Knitting Needle Size: US 15 / 10mm, though I might recommend a H/5mm – L/8mm for a more solid fabric

Crochet Gauge: 7 single crochets x 8 rows = 4″

Recommend Crochet Hook Size: US P15 / 10mm, though I might recommend a H8/5mm – L11/8mm for a more solid fabric
