EuroYarns Brilliance Yarn is a fun, super chunky ribbon yarn comprised 82% Acrylic and 18% Polyester Metallic that is actually more like a wide piece of fabric as opposed to a traditional yarn strand, and features a fish net like mesh along the edging that you can easily gather to create beautiful, lushious ruffles. Now, ruffles are what I believe this yarn to be designed for, but you also crochet and knit with it as one strand and make shimmery, super bulky weight projects, or cut and use the beautiful, metallic strands as tassels to embellish a project with. You’ll love how easy Brilliance projects are to care for with the yarn being machine washable.

If you remember Red Heart Sashay, this Brilliance Yarn is just like that. I could jump for joy to have Brilliance ever since Sashay was discontinued many years ago.

Let’s talk yardage real quick! 29 yards doesn’t sound like much at all, and if you are knitting or crocheting with it as a strand alone, you will most likely want to stick to smaller accessories, but if you are knitting or crocheting with it as the ruffle on your project (or simply a ruffle scarf), it will go a lot further than you think as the netting opens up.

Set Up: Center pull skein that is ready to use!

Care Instructions: Machine washable in cold water on the gentle cycle. Roll in a towel to press the water out, and lay flat to dry.

Tool Note: The recommended needle and hook sizes are for knitting and crocheting with this yarn as a strand. If you are using the yarn to create a ruffle, the needle and hook size options are endless! Simply match them to whichever you’re using in your project, or if you aren’t sure, I usually reach for my US 8 / 5mm needles or H8 / 5mm crochet hook, and weave in the ruffle yarn with a small crochet hook, like a 2mm, rather than a tapestry needle.

Knitting Gauge: 10 – 12 stitches = 4″

Recommended Knitting Needle Size: US 11 / 8mm – US 13 / 9mm

Crochet Gauge: 8 – 9 1/2 Single Crochets = 4″

Recommend Crochet Hook Size: L11 / 8mm – M13 / 9mm
