Ergonomic polymer clay crochet hooks have a clay body that is hand molded around a metal crochet hook, and is designed to reduce hand fatigue and pain while crocheting.

This Flamingo crochet hook set also comes with one matching stitch marker! Use it to help keep track of progress or mark an important stitch for later.

Details:

The clay ends approximately 2″ down from hook end.

The stitch marker measures approximately 1/2″ – 5/8″ in diameter.

Materials:

The metal crochet hook base is a Susan Bates aluminum crochet hook – except for the 4.25mm, which is a Boye aluminum crochet hook. Polymer clay is sculpted and added to the crochet hook and baked. Minwax is used to seal the finished clay portion.

For the clay stitch marker, a similar process is taken in which polymer clay is sculpted, then a stainless steel eye pin is added before baking. Minwax is used to seal the finished clay stitch marker, and then a stainless steel lever back earring hook is added.

Clay hooks, needle minders and stitch markers are all handmade, and since some of the clay colors are mixed together to get different shades, you may receive a product in which the colors looks a little bit different, especially when it comes to the beach sand. If you are interested in a set, whether that be multiple crochet hooks or a crochet hook, needle minder and a couple stitch markers, it’s best to order it together so it can be matched similarly to the lot number of yarns. Custom orders can also be done to ensure the same clay mixture is used – feel free to reach out!

Crochet hooks themselves vary in color, and coordinate with the size crochet hook, just as you’ve seen in stores and with ones in your stash. I love this color coding system to help distinguish hook sizes from a far! Aluminum hook colors cannot be altered, and may be subject to change from time to time as produced by their companies. The hook you see in the photos is an H8/5mm, and is a bluish, teal color at time of posting in April of 2024.
