Plastic Canvas Needlepoint Class: Scotch Stitch Mug Rug
$15.00
Out of stock
Description
Plastic canvas needlepoint involves using a hand sewing technique to create decorative stitches over a plastic mesh, and one of the great things about it is that you do not need to have any crafting experience to work plastic canvas crafts and it’s easier on your hands and eyes than needlepointing (or cross stitching) on fabric, like you’re probably more used to seeing.
Note: coasters are shown as the photo for this class. The mug rug will be a variation of this pattern and a different size.
In this class, you’ll learn how to cut out a plastic canvas shape and work the scotch stitch to create a mug rug that is perfect for housing your favorite drink and snack, or use in other ways, such as underneath a soap and lotion hand dispenser or with a plant or candle on top.
We’ll explore the basic sizing information for mug rugs and how to work the scotch stitch so in the end, you’ll be able to custom create mug rugs later using different stitch patterns or matching projects also worked using the scotch stitch.
Cost: $15 – Supplies Included
Supplies that are included: A written crochet pattern with chart, 1 ball of acrylic yarn (TBD), 7 mesh plastic canvas and a tapestry needle.
Want to make a different project? I am happy to explore other project ideas with you during the class, or feel free to come to our Stitch Meet Up Event on the 3rd Sunday of the month to continue working together.
